Design Features

Basic Costume: Corset & Tartan Skirt

Renaissance Corset

Our corset features a square neckline that is delicately raised in the center, creating a flattering silhouette. The corset is made using black cotton velvet, with a natural cotton for the lining.

The interlining is a blend of wool and cotton, but can be replaced with linen upon your request. The bodice closes at the front and includes boning in the back seam and both sides of the front opening, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit.

Black Watch Tartan Skirt

Our Black Watch tartan skirt is crafted from polyviscose, making it 100% wool-free and vegan-friendly. The skirt features two panels of tartan (3 panels for sizes X1, X2, X3), each painstakingly pleated in the traditional historical fashion.

It boasts a generous span and includes long ties at both sides to secure each panel around your waist. The skirt falls to ankle length, creating an elegant and historically accurate aesthetic.

Skirt length: 95 cm / 37,5 inches

Black Watch Tartan

The deeply admired Black Watch tartan presents itself with striking bands of dark green and navy blue, boldly interwoven with dramatic black stripes.

This captivating design is not only prestigious but holds a special place in Scottish history as the official Government tartan. Named after the valiant 'Black Watch' companies formed in the early 18th century to defend the Scottish Highlands, this pattern carries an air of courage and allegiance to the Royal Highland Regiment.

What makes the Black Watch tartan particularly magnificent is its 'open tartan' status. You needn't belong to a specific clan to wear its eye-catching design. Simply donning this exquisite pattern allows you to embrace and pay homage to the compelling world of Scottish traditions.

Additional Garments

Renaissance Chemise

Our Renaissance Blouse is made from soft, thin organic cotton, ensuring maximum comfort and breathability during your historical reenactments or Renaissance fairs.

The adjustable neckline, featuring a cotton drawstring, allows for a perfect fit. The long, flowing sleeves not only add elegance but also provide freedom of movement, making this the ultimate addition to your historical wardrobe.

The Black Linen Petticoat

Featuring two pleated panels of fabric, sewn on both sides and extending to a 3-meter span, our linen panels come with long ties on each side that can be wrapped around your waist with ease. Our panels measure 85 cm in length, providing ample coverage and allowing you to create a unique and elegant look.

How To Dress

To wear your Renaissance costume, please follow these steps:

Skirt:
  1. Secure the linen skirt by tying the back panel ties and knotting them at the front.
  2. Adjust the front panel by wrapping it like an apron around the waist, making a double turn.
  3. In the accompanying photos, the skirt is styled with a bustle pad to add volume to the hips and highlight the waist.

Corset:
  1. Put on the corset.
  2. Cross the cord through the metal eyelets, starting from the bottom and going to the top.
  3. Ensure a comfortable, snug fit around the chest by tightening the drawstring.

About Sizing

Finding the Right Size:

Please refer to the size chart to select the correct size for your Renaissance Costume. Keep in mind that corsets don't follow standard sizing, so getting an accurate fit is important for comfort and effectiveness. Here's a complete guide on how to measure yourself.

Custom Sizing:

If your measurements don't align perfectly with the sizes on the chart, we recommend choosing the "custom size" option. After placing your order, submit your measurements through our Custom Sizing Form as soon as possible. Delay in receiving your measurements will also delay your order.
