The Charlotte Collection gathers the 1770 English Gowns from the Atelier Serraspina
The Charlotte Collection gathers the 1770 English Gowns from the Atelier Serraspina. They reproduce a very fashionable dress model in the 1770s. The model comes in 2 variants: the open gown and the round gown.
In their open version, the Charlotte collection gowns have two parts: the dress coat (bodice and train) and a petticoat. The dresses close on the front through a hook and eye tape.
In the back, seams converge towards the low back to sharpen the waistline. They then lead to the long train. English Gowns can also be worn “à la Polonaise” as they pull up the train. This option is possible for open dresses, but not for closed or round gowns that present themselves in one piece. A little like today’s dresses!
