    MacKenzie Tartan

The Mackenzie Tartan holds historical significance as the regimental tartan of the Seaforth Highlanders. It was initially established in 1778 by Mackenzie, Earl of Seaforth.

The modern Mackenzie tartan, as we know it today, evolved from the military tartan of Mackenzie Lord MacLeod's 73rd Highland Regiment (later adopted by the Seaforth Highlanders). This design drew inspiration from an early version of the Black Watch tartan, first developed around 1729, with the addition of black, white, and red lines.

    Design Features

Basic Costume: Corset & Tartan Skirt

    Renaissance Corset

Our corset features a square neckline that is delicately raised in the center, creating a flattering silhouette. The corset is made using black cotton velvet, with a natural cotton for the lining.

The interlining is a blend of wool and cotton, but can be replaced with linen upon your request. The bodice closes at the front and includes boning in the back seam and both sides of the front opening, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit.

    MacKenzie Tartan Skirt

Our MacKenzie tartan skirt is crafted from polyviscose, making it 100% wool-free and vegan-friendly. The skirt features two panels of tartan (3 panels for sizes X1, X2, X3), each painstakingly pleated in the traditional historical fashion.

It boasts a generous span and includes long ties at both sides to secure each panel around your waist. The skirt falls to ankle length, creating an elegant and historically accurate aesthetic.

    Skirt length: 95 cm / 37,5 inches

    MacKenzie Tartan

The Mackenzie Tartan holds historical significance as the regimental tartan of the Seaforth Highlanders. It was initially established in 1778 by Mackenzie, Earl of Seaforth.

The modern Mackenzie tartan, as we know it today, evolved from the military tartan of Mackenzie Lord MacLeod's 73rd Highland Regiment (later adopted by the Seaforth Highlanders). This design drew inspiration from an early version of the Black Watch tartan, first developed around 1729, with the addition of black, white, and red lines.
