All About Louise

This 18th-century historical dress faithfully reproduces the "English dress" or "Round Gown" worn in Western Europe and America around the years 1770-1785.

The LOUISE 18th-century dress comes in one piece: the mantua, pleated according to the 18th-century way, is sewn to both sides of the skirt's front panel. The whole gown has a very generous volume of fabric.

The fitted linen bodice is full lined with cotton poplin. Its square neckline closes at the front with a band of eyelets on either side of the opening. A delicate lace ribbon trims the end of the preformed elbow sleeves.

Louise is made of prewashed medium-weight linen (205gr/m), in a range of colors matching Atelier Serraspina's color palette. You can therefore combine your Louise dress with linen or tartan shawls, as well as with sashes from the entire boutique.

Outer fabric: 100% prewashed linenLining: 100% organic cotton

Turn inside out before washing. Use cold hand wash only. Do not bleach, soak, rub, or tumble dry.

The LOUISE dress is to be put on as follows: you slip your dress over your head through the opening. Then you adjust the skirt panel by tying the ties around the waist, like an apron. Once the skirt is in place, just slip your arms through the sleeves of the dress mantua that you'll tie at the front, passing a cord through the eyelets on either side of the opening.

In the presentation photos, the dress is worn over a bum pad which adds volume to the hips and emphases the thinness of the waist.

I couldn't be happier with this dress! The seller made it to my exact measurements and I've never had something fit me so perfectly. The quality is amazing and I can't wait to show off their craftsmanship at re-enactments & pirate invasions!

I will definitely be ordering from this seller again!

Wonderful seller and lovely dress! The color is just stunning! The sleeves are a bit tight on me, but think after some wears it should be better. The dress fits very well and the length is perfect. Carol was very helpful and adjusted the length and bodice for me. Many thanks!
