DORINE is an 18th-century dress, composed in this case of a navy linen laced bodice, a stomacher, and the HÉLOÏSE skirt in blue-gray linen, pleated in the purest style of the 18th century. This historical costume corresponds to the female clothes worn in northern Europe in the 18th century.

The petticoat

HÉLOÏSE, an 18th-century petticoat consists of two panels of blue-gray linen fabric, joined by the sides whose upper end remains open on each side. This opening allows you to easily put on the skirt. Once put on, the petticoat is tied in the following way: you start by tying the ties of the back panel, making a knot on the front; then you adjust the front panel like an apron, with a double turn around the waist. The ties are long enough to make this double turn before attaching them. If you are satisfied with only one turn, feel free to cut them to the length that suits you best.

The two panels of this historical petticoat are pleated in the style of the 18th century. On the front, the pleats start from the central box towards the sides. On the back, the folds start from the sides to converge in the middle of the back.

In the photos, the petticoat is worn over a quilted petticoat that gives it this nice volume. If you do not have a petticoat of this style, you can also wear it on a bum pad that will bring volume to the hips and will emphasize the finesse of the waist.
A bum pad is available in the shop, here: SUZIE.

The laced bodice & Stomacher

Regarding the jacket, it is a very tight bodice, made out of navy linen, and fully lined with cotton poplin, whose sleeves stop at the elbow. The jacket is boned at the back and tied on the front by means of a lace that goes through eyelets located on both sides of the opening. Once the bodice is placed, you can slip behind the lace the boned stomacher (see options for colors) that will complete the outfit.

The fabric

Regarding the fabric, the DORINE dress is made of medium-heavy linen (245gr/m2), a material that gives the garment all its beauty. The lining of the jacket is made of cotton poplin. Caring is simple: you can wash your outfit at 30ºC and iron it (power 2 max.). Anyway it is better to perform this operation on the inside to avoid shining the fabric.
