GEORGIANA is a recreation of a “Chemise à la Reine”. This very particular dress takes its name after the garment Queen Marie Antoinette wore on her portrait, painted in 1783 by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun. This garment experienced a real craze in the 1780s.
Description
The garment got itself talked about at the time. First of all, the dress used cotton and not silk, which was the common fabric for court clothes. Then, because the model was intended to be natural.
We have dedicated several articles to this model in our blog. Do not hesitate to consult them for more information on this type of clothing.
La Chemise à la Reine is therefore a one-piece dress, which requires a considerable amount of cotton fabric. The wingspan of GEORGIANA’s skirt reaches 4.20 m, with a larger volume on the back than on the front. In the photos, the dress is worn over a bum pad that brings a nice volume to the hips and emphasizes the finesse of the waist.
A bum pad is available in the shop, here: SUZIE.
Once put on, you can adjust your dress very easily: two cords allow you to fit your neckline and waist for a perfect fit.
How to take care of your Georgiana
Caring is simple: you can wash your outfit at 30ºC and iron it (power 2 max.). Anyway, it is better to perform this operation on the inside to avoid shining the fabric.
