GEORGIANA is a recreation of a “Chemise à la Reine”. This very particular dress takes its name after the garment Queen Marie Antoinette wore on her portrait, painted in 1783 by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun. This garment experienced a real craze in the 1780s.
The garment got itself talked about at the time. We have dedicated several articles to this model in our blog. Do not hesitate to consult them for more information on this type of clothing.
La Chemise à la Reine is therefore a one-piece dress, which requires a considerable amount of cotton fabric. The wingspan of this GEORGIANA’s skirt reaches 6,25 m, with a larger volume on the back than on the front. In the photos, the dress is worn over a bum pad that brings a nice volume to the hips and emphasizes the finesse of the waist.
A bum pad is available in the shop, here: SUZIE.
Once put on, you can adjust your dress very easily: two cords allow you to fit your neckline and waist for a perfect fit. Then, you can complete your outfit with the brown taffeta sash, whose considerable length and width allow you to make a beautiful bow in the back.
This version of GEORGIANA is made out of a beautiful blue/grey 100% silk. The sash is made out of a brown taffeta with thin blue stripes.
How to take care of your Georgiana
