Héloïse is an 18th-century petticoat in floral cotton, pleated in the purest style of the 18th century. It is, thus, an essential part of the female historical costume.

Description

The petticoat has two panels of cotton fabric, stitched at the sides whose upper end remains open. In consequence, this opening allows you to easily put on the skirt. Once put on, you can tie your 18th-century linen petticoat in the following way. First, you start by tying the laces of the back panel, making a knot on the front. Then you adjust the front panel like an apron. Finally, you can tie your petticoat with a double turn around the waist. Actually, the ties are long enough to make this double turn before attaching them. But, if you are satisfied with only one turn, feel free to cut them to the length that suits you best.

Besides, both sides of the petticoat present typical 18th-century pleats. That is, on the front, the pleats start from the central box towards the sides. Then on the back, the folds start from the sides to converge in the middle of the back.

Finally, the Héloïse 18th-century cotton petticoat matches perfectly with the bodices from the DORINE and MANON collections. You can also match it with the mantua of the CHARLOTTE collection. Feel free to combine the colors according to your taste!

Complement

In the photos, the 18th-century petticoat lays over a quilted petticoat that gives it this nice volume. If you do not have a quilted petticoat, you can also wear it over a bum pad, like SUZIE. The bum pad will indeed bring volume to the hips and will emphasize the delicacy of the waist.

Fabric

Regarding the material, the Héloïse 18th-century petticoat is made of a lightweight cotton. Moreover, caring is simple: you can wash your skirt at 30ºC and iron it.
